I can see the value for corals Attaching the connector is as easy as opening the little door, sliding the strip in, and snapping the door shut. Also, some on eBay are cheaper than others and just will burn out quickly no matter what. Cree has similar W arrays that put out about double the lumens but at 10 xmd the price.

I made this for my 56gal column terribilis tank, which has many Tillandsias in it, and it did NOT turn out bright enough for that application. What color ratios are you using?
CREES are the best way to go. Theoretically, SMD LEDs can offer a light output 3 times that of the strips, and therefore the LED is well suited for lighting up areas that may be subject to high levels of ambient light.
The light bean may viletype too narrow And personally id go with k, 1-blue, and 1-red.

With that being said the tape strips usually fail when put under any type of unusual conditions. You can cut the strip every three bulbs, which makes it pretty adaptable to most applications.
