And it left me thinking that Tess deserved a bit better in the romance department at the end of the book, though she got what she asked for and should not brocmann short-changed in the future. The main characters of this one, I didn’t know. I really liked the heroine, whose real strengths get revealed bit by bits, while everyone, including the good guys and the unsuspecting reader, took her for less than she was.

I missed the historical flashback scenes in this one too. But this time, Nash may have met his match in Tess Bailey, an Troubleshooters operative with all the right instincts—and zero field experience. It barely felt like the book was connected at all. I’m not going to lie. I’m a flzshpoint for the enigmatic, emotionally distant playboy character, and love to watch them unravel for that special, certain someone Instead of multiple storylines with complex characters we get a single storyline with multiple points of view and flat characters. Suzan asks Ikmen to solve the case, and despite his reluctance to get involved, he suzannne finds himself drawn into the mystery.
